BUCKET LIST BARRA

Excitement, anticipation and enthusiasm; none of these words alone describe the feeling I had as a kid prior to a fishing trip. Over the years that childhood feeling has dissipated, probably due to more regular fishing outings now. I was lucky enough to have that feeling come rushing back to me recently.

My mate and fishing “celebrity” Jason Ehrlich recently sent me a message asking if I’d be keen to tag along with him and his son Blake on a trip to Queensland’s Callide Dam to target barramundi. I jumped at the offer. There’s certainly not much that gets the juices flowing like the opportunity to tangle with a hard-fighting fish that has been on your bucket list for so long. No matter if the barra were biting or not, it was guaranteed to be an incredible learning experience.
