Westerbeke has been making engines since 1937 and its current yacht auxiliary range reflects the sound engineering that has gone into its diesel engines. The range spans 12 to 38bhp in two, three and four cylinder configurations.

Top of the line is the 44C, a Mitsubishi-based four cylinder engine that has features ensuring a long service life. For example, at 1.76 litres, it has a way bigger piston displacement than its direct European competition so it will rarely be stressed, even when worked hard.
