Hello there Baking Heaven reader, and welcome to the November issue!

I don’t know about you, but Christmas is my all-time favourite time of year. Mainly because of ALL the food and deliciousness and getting together with friends and family, but ultimately baking to share and spread some festive cheer!

First off, let’s talk about Christmas cake! This recipe is one of my favourites ever. I’ve been baking this in many shapes, sizes and numbers for over 20 years now. It’s actually a tradition in our house – every year we make a big batch, but we decorate one especially for our house, with all the kids involved. As the years have gone by and the kids have got older, our decorating standards have improved!

In fact, this very recipe is the one I used to bake in my bakery when we supplied festive cakes and cookies to Fortnum and Mason which, for me, is the most wonderful destination for food, especially at Christmas, so this was one of my proudest moments of my baking career.
