Nestled above the beautiful beaches of St Tropez, diamond heiress Carol Asscher’s home has enviable views of the sparkling Mediterranean below on one side. On the other, it looks over a fabulous flower garden. It is situated in a private enclave where every house belongs to her family.
The name Asscher is a legend in the world of diamonds. It was Carol’s great-great-grandfather Joseph Asscher who cut the biggest-ever raw stone, from which came the Star of Africa, otherwise known as the Cullinan diamond, which was the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found – weighing more than 3,000 carats.
