How to take cuttings in autumn

LEARNING new gardening skills is exciting and so is getting free plants! You can do both by trying your hand at taking stem-tip and semi-ripe cuttings now from perennial plants and shrubs in your own or a friend’s garden. Struck in small pots or cell trays and protected over winter on a windowsill indoors or in a frost-free greenhouse, they’ll make sturdy plants to set out as the weather improves.
