This is a hard time for South Africa, our continent and the world. It can seem impossible to think about anything except the human pain and economic damage we are seeing all around us. South Africa’s more than 200 000 financial sector workers have shown great courage and discipline in serving the nation. Despite the risks they face, essential workers calmly go to their branches and offices every day to serve clients. The many thousands of people working from home are juggling their responsibilities with impressive stamina and self-discipline.
