Well, what a year 2020 is turning out to be. After finally wriggling free of winter’s grip and battling through various floods and storms, we’re now in the midst of the worst viral pandemic the world has seen for a century. With the coronavirus situation changing even quicker than bike ‘standards’, we thought we’d better get out quickly to do this issue’s Big Ride – while we still could. And with social-distancing rules starting to kick in, we decided we’d best not involve anyone else in our ‘escape’ plans. We just needed a location not too far away with great trails, and the Isle of Purbeck won. (At the time of writing this up, we’re in full-on lockdown – being able to drive somewhere for a ride and stop off at a pub seems a distant memory!)
