How to live in good health for longer — not just adding more years to life — is one of the great challenges facing modern society.

According to the stats, we’re doing pretty well on both fronts. World Health Organisation figures show Australians’ healthy life expectancy, or the number of years spent living in good health — is 10 years higher than the global average. Even more impressive, both our life expectancy and our healthy life expectancy increased by about the same number of years between 2003 and 2015.

On average, women live 6 to 8 years longer than men

But we think we can happier — regardless of how old you are.
