These bars provide slow-release energy, so are great for taking on long walks or before exercise. You can swap the dried cherries for dried apricots, raisins, sultanas or dates.

butter (any kind) 100g
runny honey 4 tbsp
mixed seeds 75g
dried cherries 75g, chopped
whole almonds 75g, roughly chopped
rolled oats 200g
dark chocolate chips 75g
Rice Krispies 40g

• Heat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4 and line a 20cm x 30cm baking tin with baking paper. Melt the butter and honey in a small pan. Put all the remaining ingredients in a bowl then pour over the butter and honey. Mix really well, then tip into the baking tin and use the back
