HOW WE TESTED
We evaluated print, picture and scan quality, as well as speed, ease of use, paper loading, connectivity, installation and ink refills. All printers tested had scan and copy functions, and refillable ink tanks (except the Canon Maxify).

Dots per inch (dpi) refers to image resolution. The higher the dpi, the sharper the printed images. Pages per minute (ppm) refers to how fast a printer churns out documents.
