Evacuation 80th anniversary parade

Jersey’s St Aubin’s Bay was filled with 90-plus boats as St Helier Yacht Club members commemorated the 80th anniversary of the evacuation of St Malo, reports Philip Jeune.

The annual race and rally to the French port to mark the club’s ‘finest hour’ had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. Instead the club held an Evacuation 80 Parade and proudly flew its defaced Red Ensign – a unique battle honour recognising the members’ response to a request
