THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN…

GUESS WHO JUST GOT BACK today? (Er, well, they’re back in September, anyway.) Yes, it’s them wild-eyed Boys that had been away. But there are some changes for them on the way…

Amazon Prime’s comic book adaptation The Boys pits the titular team of vigilantes against the world’s premier superhero squad, the Seven. The Boys’ members include Billy Butcher, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, Frenchie and the Female. On the flip side, the Seven’s roster consists of Homelander, Starlight, The Deep, A-Train, Queen Maeve, Black Noir and new recruit Stormfront.

Turns out these costume-clad do-gooders abuse their powers for fame and fortune rather than simply using them to protect the innocent. The Boys’ mission: to expose the truth about the Seven and take down Vought International, the shady, multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages them.

The show’s initial run ended with Homelander laser-beaming his boss Madelyn Stillwell in the face, and with Butcher at his mercy. Furthermore, A-Train discovered the romantic entanglement between Hughie (who gets drawn into Billy returns for season two, Butcher is missing – his gang’s been driven underground. And they’re being hunted by both the law the Seven. Showrunner Eric Kripke promises “a deeper and more intense” second season, as the characters are put through the emotional wringer.
