COVID-19. It has changed our world. By the time you read this, we will have likely experienced several waves of infection globally. For this particular essay, I’d like to take us back to the introduction of the virus to Europe in early winter 2020. The first three confirmed cases in Europe were in France back on January 24. Nearly a month later (February 21), cases were reported in nine European countries, including Italy and Spain. These two countries would end up being the active centre of the worldwide pandemic less than a month later.
