WHICH KRUGER 4x4 TRAIL EAST OR WEST

The camaraderie was instant as Ertjies Bierman, Gideon Langeveld and Eric Khosa introduced themselves. We would all be travelling companions for the next four days on the Mafunyane 4x4 Adventure Trail, camping wild in the westernmost parts of Kruger National Park rarely seen by visitors. Old adventure hands, all of us had already driven the beautiful dirt roads of the Lebombo Trail on Kruger’s eastern border with Mozambique.

Both trails lead from south to north; although guided, they allow you to roam where few have done so before. Trailists have official permission to ignore the restricted entry signs. The guides look for alternative
