    GPS info can be added to photos when they are captured by most cameras. Some cameras have a GPS receiver built-in and it just needs to be switched on. Most are compatible with the GP-E2 GPS receiver accessory, and some make use of the GPS from a mobile phone.

    GPS info is useful to help identify the exact spot a picture was taken. Though you might want to turn it off to make sure that it doesn’t provide other people with the location of your home, a model, or rare wildlife. GPS info is saved with the many bits of info, called metadata, in your photos. The GP-E2 and some cameras not only pinpoint the location, but will also store the compass
