    JOLLY GREEN DINOSAUR

    Serves 10-12 Preparation time 1-1½ hours plus overnight cooling Cooking time 35-40 minutes

    Start prepping this cake the day before you want to serve it. Look out for chocolate thins in the cookie aisle of the supermarket as they make ideal spines. Decorate the serving plate with chocolate-coated “pebbles”.

    INGREDIENTS

    For the cake

    • 1 quantity Extra Large Basic Vanilla Cake mixture (see far right)
    • 1 quantity Vanilla Buttercream (see right)

    To decorate

    • Green and brown gel or paste food colouring
    • 14 mini chocolate drops
    • Chocolate thins
    • Green diamond jelly sweets
    • Chocolate sprinkles
    • Green sprinkles
    • 2 white chocolate buttons for eyes
    • Black writing icing

    1. Lightly grease and line 2 x 23cm/9in cake tins with baking parchment.

    . Make the vanilla cake mixture and divide between the prepared cake tins. Bake on the middle shelf of the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Leave the cakes to cool in the tins for 10
