SONAL AMBANI

Please tell us a little about your installation, Transcendental Time – what is it all about?

“ is all about being in the moment – it’s about being fully present, in mind and body, in order to be able to immerse yourself in the world around you. We are living in an era full of distractions, and the aim of this solo sculpture showcase is to challenge viewers to be more ‘present’. As soon as you enter the exhibition space, you are greeted by this massive globe – encompassing the logos of. It urges the viewers to look up at the world around them rather than being fully consumed by these little devices in our hands. So, it’s about appreciating the way in which technology connects us but also understanding that it can distance us from one another. Each sculpture invites the viewer to reflect upon these fundamental questions about their own lives – How do you determine inherent value? Can love and pain exist without one another? How have you learnt from your ancestors?”
