Not before time

Not many people know this, but I own a time machine. It’s a Time-a-Tronic 3000 X. With it I can manipulate time. I can do it at a distance and even manipulate it in the future or the past. In fact, while you’ve been reading this, I’ve been manipulating time around you. I slowed it right down almost to a standstill then brought it back up to speed again. Did you notice? I’m going to guess you didn’t.

This is because the time machine only works by manipulating time across the entire universe. It can’t just speed up or slow down time in one region and leave the rest of the universe cruising along as normal. Come on. That would be science-fiction.

But it can slow down time – even bring it to almost a standstill –
