e started our holiday in Zurich – one of my favourite cities – and exploring it again was a real pleasure. The old town spans both sides of the Limmat River and cobblestone streets and little alleys are perfect for strolling, and stopping to check out the lovely old buildings. If it’s hot, stop for the best iced coffee at Cafe Schobel (we had ours in the delightful courtyard, but this historic building has nooks and crannies that are perfect for a romantic time-out). If you fancy a breakfast that is totally Swiss, try the menu which includes the bircher muesli (I loved it, and I don’t normally like muesli!).
