Des’s Walk is a private labyrinth on a farm outside Somerset West that Vivien Routledge built 11 years ago to deal with the death of someone close to her. “In the beginning I sometimes walked it simply to be ‘with him’, and on the first anniversary of his death a few friends and I held a ceremony in the labyrinth,” she explains.
