Rieger Gun Cases
Nowadays, most new medium to high-end production double-barrelled shotguns and rifles are supplied in plastic cases. These cases are sturdy and do the job, but lack the soul of a genuine leather, felt lined case. There is just something about opening a leather case and experiencing the smell of gun, oil and leather. I own a Beretta Silver Pigeon over-and-under in 12-bore, and although it is by no means top of the range, it is one I have wanted for years and plan to care for well. It came in a very functional plastic case, with ample storage space for chokes and cleaning equipment, but lacks the right feel, so I set about looking for a replacement. There are a few commercially-available leather cases, but they look and feel mass produced and did not appeal to me. They are also very expensive.
