I have a long history of unhealthy niceness. Working 60-hour weeks to get the approval of my boss; laughing at jokes that are inappropriate or hurtful; allowing violent behaviour to happen to me, other humans or the more-than-human world; remaining quiet when something inappropriate or untrue is said about me or someone else.
