LOVE-A-FARE

• A heart-shaped cookie cutter can make all manner of cutesy delights. Use it to shape cookies, sandwiches, pastry and cakes.

• To make heart-shaped cupcakes, put a marble at the top of each hole of the cupcake tin to shape the paper cases, before filling with batter.

• Create heart-shaped eggs. Hard-boil an egg and peel while still warm. Fold a small rectangular piece of card (approximately 7.5cm x 19cm) in half lengthways and open out again. Put the egg lengthways on the card along the crease, and place a chopstick on the egg, parallel with the fold, to form an indentation. Use two elastic bands to secure the card and chopstick at either end. Chill for at least 10 minutes, then slice in half widthways to reveal a heart shape.

• To add a meaty option to lunch or brunch, slice bacon rashers into thin lengths and shape
