Aviation’s Big Show
Australia’s aviation showcase rolls back into Avalon next month as the Australian International Airshow returns for the 14th time. The 2019 version displays all the hallmarks of being as alluring an exciting as some of the best shows staged in the last 27 years. From the biggest and loudest of the RAAF and the US Air Force to the humblest recreational two-seaters, Avalon now embraces the whole aviation industry from Airbus to Zenith.
But every individual person has their own reasons for making the biennial pilgrimage to Avalon. For some it’s a chance to wallow in the roar of turbofans from the closest distance they’re ever likely to be allow to; for others it’s the thrill of high-energy manoeuvres from jet fighters ripping the sky in front of them. It is these aircraft, the major drawcards, that the general public come to see.
