Editor’s Letter

turns 22 this month, and I’m like a proud mama who’s seen this baby grow up and evolve through the years to stay relevant to the time-challenged working woman. Tastes DNA of wanting to help women be better, more confident versions of themselves. That’s why this 22nd Anniversary issue is super power packed. It’s filled with stories that move – stories of strength, stories of ambition... so that you, too, know what you’re capable of. I’m thrilled that has the honour of giving a voice to so many women here in Singapore. Through the years, the Great Women Of Our Time Awards has celebrated over 250 outstanding women who have continued to soar to even greater heights. If you haven’t yet met the 18 inspiring nominees of this year’s awards, turn to page 25. These are the names to watch for, because we know they will continue to be the trailblazers breaking new ground for others. And we want to know who inspires you most, page 38. While October is always celebratory for us, it’s also a sobering month. Breast cancer affects one in 11 women in their lifetime, so we are joining hands with the Breast Cancer Foundation to raise further awareness about how you can protect yourself. Some may think it’s something that happens to older women, but in “Bold, Brave & Strong”, page 64, you’ll see that cancer is age blind. I take my hat off to Jasmine Han, Christina Willock and Cindy Wong, who openly share their fight with the disease. Cindy says she was treated like an outcast when she took the MRT after a chemo session. So, I’m making a wish on behalf of our team this birthday: That we will all battle this disease together with a heart of compassion.
