    For the love of lavender

    Cancer makes you do strange and wonderful things. Some people start running marathons, some eat healthily for the first time in their lives, others travel the world. Time is precious, and a cancer diagnosis is a heavenly warning for you to make the most of your time on the earthly plane. That’s my excuse for buying a lavender farm and perfumery in Tasmania, signing the contract while I was still flat on my back following surgery.

    I’ve always loved lavender. Originally native to the Mediterranean, Middle East and India, lavender is a flowering perennial shrub in the Lamiaceae (mint) family. It has over 40 known species and numerous cultivars, which are grown worldwide.
