From the moment we are born, we begin to age. Ultimately, genetics and environmental influences will play the largest role in deciding how well our skin holds its youth over time.
Our skin’s barrier function is quite similar to that of a brick wall; it needs to maintain its integrity in order to protect or conceal whatever lies behind it. Imagine your skin cells as the bricks and the lipid barrier responsible for keeping your skin strong, healthy and hydrated as the cement.
