Naturally good

We live in a time when the cosmetics industry and science are increasingly working in synergy with nature. It’s not only purely organic and natural products that are in demand – in the cosmeceutical and dermaceutical laboratories the trend is for more and more botanical ingredients to find their way into the test tubes for breakthrough formulas in skincare.

Science and nature can indeed co-exist productively. It’s difficult to make pure, natural formulations because the ingredients don’t have a long shelf-life, therefore the tendency is to combine natural products with scientific, active ingredients that deliver results.

International cosmetic houses like Clarins, Team Dr Joseph and Sisley (who call their products phytoceuticals) have full-time scientists out in the fields, forests, oceans, deserts and remote places where people still use herbs and plants
