We can’t stress enough how important this is—almost as crucial as their camera skills. Aside from your gut instinct, ask these questions before signing a contract.

What photography style(s) do you specialize in? Are there any styles you don’t do?

Most shooters use a blend of several, but make sure they shoot portraits, for example, if they’re important to you. WHY YOU WANT TO KNOW You wouldn’t ask Monet to paint a Picasso, right? Going with the style a photographer likes to shoot (and has the most experience shooting) will give you the best results.
