On our last couple of shoots of the season, I noticed that one of my cover plots was all but gone, so started pondering what to do to make a better job for next season. It has been weak all winter and I’m lucky that it lasted so well in the mild weather. In an average year, with a bit more frost and snow, we would have been stymied earlier.
