Hougaard says: ‘This is the Ruacana Falls on the Kunene River that forms the border between Namibia and Angola. The falls are just below the Ruacana hydro station so mostly there’s nothing much to see. However, about once every five years, the river floods and the falls reach their true potential of around 700 metres
