    Yarn

    5 (5, 6, 6) x balls 50gm Buttons DK

    4 (4, 5, 5) buttons

    Needles

    3.25mm and 4mm straight needles

    Cable needle

    Stitch markers

    Tension

    34 sts by 30 rows over Main patt to 10cm using 4mm needles.

    Special abbreviations

    C6B – Slip 3 sts to cable needle and hold to back, k3; k3 from cable needle.

    MEASUREMENTS

    BACK

    With 3.25mm needles, cast on 50 (58, 62, 66) sts.

    Row 1: RS – K2; * p2, k2; rep from * to end.

    Row 2: P2; * k2, p2; rep from * to end.

    Rep these 2 rows for 2.5 (2.5, 3, 3) cm, end with a RS row.

    Next row: WS – Rib, inc 32 (34, 36, 42) sts evenly across. 82 (92, 98, 108) sts.

    Change to 4mm needles.
