Realising the Future

Despite a US$170 million budget and international publicity campaign to promote the design led by Rem Koolhaas’s team at OMA, construction on the Taipei Performing Arts Center, scheduled for completion in 2016, ground to a halt towards the end of last year when the leading contractor suddenly and unexpectedly declared bankruptcy.
