A while back, you asked your readers to provide insights on the most ridiculous deer hunting laws in their states.
Mike Austin of Virginia wrote, “Running deer dogs.” This needs more elaboration. He did not mention the ridiculous “right to retrieve” law. This is a 1950s-era law that violates the property rights of rural Virginia landowners. I know, because I am a rural Virginia landowner!
To my knowledge, Virginia is one of only two states where a right-toretrieve law exists. Section 18.2-136 of the Code of Virginia decriminalizes trespass
