Our perception of textiles can be somewhat narrow because we all too often associate them with just clothing and fashion. Looking at textiles in the broader sense, including tapestry and embroidery, we can understand that they have formed an important and historical cross-cultural link of the way we need and use such materials in a basic domestic sense, but also as an important source of adornment and luxury.
