Technology has opened up exciting avenues for learning and influenced alternative techniques for teaching. It’s a whole new educational environment. And it’s one that can be very demanding on kids.

PARENTS CAN START KIDS off on the right foot by creating a dedicated space that is conducive to study—a quiet retreat away from distractions such as cellphones, televisions, and video games. It should be well lit and supplied with everything your offspring will need. A kitchen is often a good choice, but your child’s bedroom is not ideal.
