WAR to WINE

A cost-saving month-long Christmas-holiday visit to Guatemala from California led a young South African student to Australia – and ultimately to become WA’s biggest vineyard contractor and carer.

As well, Andy Ferreira is now a major WA wine producer with three brands and almost 20 different wines in his portfolio, set to increase with planned expansion.

Now 57, the tall mild-mannered former school rugby player has become a lover of the WA outback and huge coastline since migrating to the State in 1985.
