A for ALEXINA
Alexina Graham has the HFM team in stitches during her cover shoot at Southside House, a grand 17th-century property with a labyrinth of a garden, in south London’s Wimbledon. “This place is really spooky, I think it might be haunted,” she jokes, changing back into her T-shirt, jeans and trainers at the end of the shoot.
When she pulls up a chair to chat, we notice her insanely long limbs and perfectly even facial features – she has swept her hair back into a ponytail. But none of this concerns the energetic fashion model who continues to chat candidly, next explaining how studying theatre and ballet from the age of five has helped her career. “It has given me confidence, I go into a different character for every shoot – I’d say for this one I felt very romantic, you just have to turn something on.”
Today, Alexina was the definition of glamour, wearing Mulberry, Giambattista Valli and Delpozo eveningwear and stood (very) tall in towering heels. It’s hard to imagine her as a tomboy, uninterested in fashion growing up. “I practically lived outside as a kid, because we had a really great garden. I was never a girly-girl. I would help my dad build stone walls and climb trees; I wasn’t into all the pretty stuff.
