The Kuitpo Kollective

To the untrained eye, it may appear as though Kuitpo has burst onto the scene, a fully-formed food and wine destination. Or so it seemed when in April this year, amid a glut of articles spruiking the area’s ballooning reputation, a sell-out event was held at Fox Gordon’s cellar door for Tasting Australia.

Bringing together twelve local winemakers, some Adelaide food heavyweights (including Osteria Oggi, Sunny’s Pizza and Udaberri), masterclasses and more, the sell-out ‘Kuitpo Kollective’ was a roaring success. The event put Kuitpo on the foodie map and grabbed the attention of many who’d only previously known of its eponymous pine forest.
