Quilters Companion

Ultra Violet

A jelly roll, strip piecing and cross cutting into squares, simple HST and piecing are the combination for the success of this traditional and classic Ocean Waves quilt. The pattern takes on a distinctly Indonesian feel with the use of a Batik jelly roll. This pattern isn’t difficult, but it is time-consuming. You will need some staying power to stitch the hundreds of HSTs together, but it’s worth it. Look at how the triangles shimmer and move in the finished quilt — imagine how gorgeous it would be scrappy!
