Meals to Feed your Gut Bugs

You’ve probably heard by now that there are more bacteria living in your gut than there are cells in your body. It’s no wonder, then, that these bacteria have a significant impact on your health. Having the wrong bacteria can mean negative effects, but equally having the right bacteria can have you feeling great in both body and mind. The good news is that getting the right bacteria in your gut is largely a result of your diet, so we’ve put together some delicious recipes that will get your gut happy. Overnight Oats

Yoghurt is a great source of beneficial bacteria that help boost your good gut bacteria, which play a big role in your immune system and digestive health. This delicious breakfast is also rich in beta-glucan, a type of fermentable fibre that supports cardiovascular health by reducing high cholesterol.

Serves: 2

2/3 cup almond milk
2/3 cup Greek yoghurt
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 Medjool dates, pitted
½ tsp ground cinnamon
2/3 cup rolled oats

Toppings

Fresh fruit, coconut flakes & roughly chopped nuts & seeds

Place almond milk, yoghurt, vanilla, dates and cinnamon in blender and blend until well combined.
