Starting slow, aiming HIGH

“Rory is just a cool kid. I don’t think he knows how talented he is.” Rory Scheffer’s coach, NIC DE BEER, sees his potential as he builds to longer distances.

“You identify a great runner by their speed, strength, and style,” says Nic. “Rory has all of it in abundance.

“It’s going to become difficult to beat him.”

Rory already has several wins under his belt, selectively racing as he builds to his international goals. Most recently it was the Ultra-trail Cape Town 65km (see page 74), after victories at Giant’s Cup Trail Run, and Dryland Traverse.
