Soaring to great heights

Dove Chen was born to be a coffee lover despite growing up in a Chinese culture that praised tea over caffeinated beans.

When Dove was just seven years old, he would steal his parent’s canned coffee when they weren’t home, and save all his pocket money to buy his own supply after school.

“The coffee culture in China was pretty much non-existent growing up, but somehow I found an early interest. I just loved coffee from the get-go,” Dove says. “It wasn’t until later in life that I realised how complex coffee could be.”

Dove completed an economics degree at university but after he graduated he decided to explore his coffee curiosity further. He spent time at the Retail Food Group training centre on the Gold Coast. The more he learned, the more he wanted to know.
