Comfort and joy wouldn’t be the nouns we’d associate with the current tidings. To paraphrase Tiny Tim, “Will we have Christmas after all?” On the whole, by the time I reach Christmas, my mood is lifted by the melodrama of chestnuts on an open fire, St. Coca-Cola and his reindeer, Three Kings, one Queen (and her Christmas speech), carollers, and rested merry
