4) Cost for 10m : f(x)= 9.65 z/m3 * 10m3 = 96.50 z Answer: For 10m3 we pay 96,50z Cost for 20m3:

f(x) = 9.65 z/m3 * 20m3 = 193 z Answer: For 20m3 we pay 193z Cost for 30m3:
f(x) = 9.65z/m3* 30m3 = 289.50 z Answer: For 30m3 we pay 289,50z

Answer:

We can buy 64 scoops of ice-cream

TASK 2 1) The tap in your kitchen is damaged therefore water is dripping out of it. In 5 minutes 100 ml of water goes out of the damaged tap. How much water ( litres) dripped of the tap per month? 2) Calculate the percentage of dripped water amount, if previous month bill was 26.20z 3) How many ice-cream balls can you buy for that money?

1)

5 min 100 ml 43200 min x ml x = (43200 * 100):5 = 864000 ml 1l = 1000 ml 864000 ml /1000 ml = 864 l

Answer: Within a month leak of 864 l water

2)

864l =0,864m3 0,864 m3* 9,65 z/m3=8,34z 26,20 z 100% 8,34z - x %

x= (8,34 * 100) : 26,20 x= 31,83 % Answer: It is 31,83%. 3) 8,34z/1,50z = 5,56 Answer: I can buy 5 ice-cream balls

TASK 3 1) The cistern in your bathroom is not good and water leaks. 50 ml of water leaks per 1 minute. Calculate how many litres of water leaks per a month? 2) How much it will increase in percentage, if the bill for the previous month was 26.20z ? 3) How many ice-cream balls you can buy for it?

1)

1 min - 50 ml of water 24 hours = 1440 minutes 1440 min * 30 days = 43 200 min 43200min * 50 ml =2160000ml = 2160l = 2.16 m3 Answer: Within a month leak of 2,16 m3 of water.

2)

2160l = 2,16m3 26,20/9,65 = 2,72m3 2,72m3 + 2,16m3 = 4,88m3 2,72m3 - 100% 4,88m3 - x% x = (4,88 * 100):2,72 x = 179,4%

Answer: It will increase the usage of water for 79,4%. 3)

Answer:

2,16m3 * 9,65z/m3 = 20,84z 20,84z : 1,50z = 13,89 It leaked for 13 ice-cream balls.

TASK 4 1)In our school there are 33 classes.In 4 classes we have interactive whiteboards. In every class each blackboard is cleaned approximately 50 times a week. If 2 litres of water are used for one cleaning of a blackboard, how many cubic meters of water do we use in one month? 2)How much do we pay for the water used in one month? 3)If an interactive board approximately costs 5000z, for how many months should we stop cleaning blackboards to raise enough money to buy an interactive one?

1)

33 - 4 = 29 rooms with a ordinary board 29 * 50 = 1450 1450 * 2 = 2900dm3 /week 2900dm3 = 2,9m3

7 day - 2,9m3 30 day - x x = (30 * 2,9)/7 x = 12,43m3 Answer: We consume 12,43m3

2)

Answer: 3)

12,43 * 9,65 z = 119,95z We should pay 119,95z

5000z /119,95z = 41,68 per month Answer: We should save for 42 months

TASK 5 How can bathers prevent wasting water? 1)Every pair of shorts absorb about 100 ml of water more than Speedo swimming pants. 2) Calculate: a) How much water will be drained from a pool where 200 men swim every day and then go out of the pool to dry out three times a day? b) Calculate the amount of water per: a week a month a season (3 months) Show the results in liters and cubic meters

1) 1 pair shorts 100ml 2a) 200 *100 * 3 = 60000 ml /day 60000 ml = 60 l = 0,06m3
2b) week: month: quarter: 60 l * 7 days = 420 l = 0,42m3 60 l * 30 days = 1800 l = 1,8m3 60 l * 90 days = 5400 l = 5,4m3

TASK 6 1) After nine days of a journey through the desert the Bedouins realised that they had already drunk 60% of their water supplies. They had only 48 water vessels. 2) For how many per cent they should diminish their everyday water rations that it would be enough for another eight days?

x - the amount of the water vessels at the beginning of the journey. 40% * x = 48 0,4 * x = 48 x = 48 :0,4 x = 120 120 - 48 = 72 72 : 9 = 8 48 : 8 = 6 8-6=2 2/8 * 100% = 0,25 * 100% = 25%

Answer: Everyday water rations should be diminished for 25%
