Scream 4 Trailer
Cinematography The camera shots consist of many one shots showing the main characters and
identifying the villain in the movie. A very powerful master shot is used showing a dramatized scene of how the victims are still in education, too young as they are still in school. A few two shots of scared victims and a few two shots of the villain attacking its victims. The most creative shot in the trailer was an over the shoulder point of view of two scared victims, over the shoulder we could see a masked human with a knife attempting to enter the house.

Editing The editing of this trailer gives a huge impression of a montage style as jump cuts, ellipsis
and fade outs are used. There are many jump cuts used to show the main characters and identify the villain without revealing the story too much. Nearly every cut ended with a quick, sharp and eye catching Fade Out that was either pitch black or bright white. Majority of jump cuts had a fade in motion as well as ending with the fade out. A few ellipsis movements used to catch glimpses of the film, what its about but not reveal how the story starts or ends and persuades you to go and watch it. Three or four clips of copy is used in-between the jump cuts to join the montage together, with the same editing techniques.

Sound Many different soundscapes are used in this trailer; Sound effects that add to the visual

elements to create more tension, Non-diegetic sound of music to build up horror and give a thrill to the audience, Voiceover of a deep manly voice explaining things to scare the audience, establishes that its a Horror genre movie.

Misc-en-scene in the trailer we get a general understanding that a white scream masked villain

that is dressed in all black has a knife and is killing certain people in a school. We understand who he/she is planning to kill and we know its because they are survivors from something. We dont understand who it is, why they are doing it or how they are getting away with it but it persuades us to go and watch it to find out.

Cinematography The camera shots consist of many one shots showing the main
characters and many two shots identifying the villain in the movie as hes terrifying the victim characters. Other shots such as; Over the shoulder POV, Establishing shot, Close up, Master shot, Track shot, Low angle shot, High angle shot are used. All these shots are used to build tension, add a mysterious effect to the story, show how the villain is equipped to kill and give the element of surprise to the horror film. The shots all play near enough at the same pace, it gives the impression that the trailer speeds up but it doesnt. Editing The editing of this trailer gives a huge impression of a developed story style, showing main aspects of the movie but not showing any clips that give away the ending. Great use of jump cuts and fade ins which detail the trailer and give a slow motioned tension building effect. Some clips had a quick fade out with white flash which makes the audience jump slightly. Sound The trailer does come with a voice-over, who speaks in a menacing, villainous tone to create extra effect to the piece. This old-style approach of using a 'melodramatic' voice-over builds up the tension for the audience. The non-diegetic sound of music used for the trailer straight away sets its theme of horror or mystery. The music speeds up half way through to build up tension as the plot begins to unfold Misc-en-scene The information we are given on the film is how several friends are haunted by the evil Freddy Kruegar who comes to them when they are asleep, they are powerless to defend themselves. They don't see him during day, only when they are asleep and he is always their mind. He still has the power to kill them, they can still feel pain and the episodes they endure with him truly are nightmares as no one else can see them. This makes it harder for other characters to believe its actually happening.

Piranha 3D Trailer
Cinematography The trailer starts with three powerful establishing shots that are typical
of an introduction due to it showing the location where the next unit of drama takes place. Following this many shots are used, such as; Master shots, One shots, Two shots, Over the shoulder POV shots, Aerial shots, Long shots and Close up shots. Also many camera movements are used, such as; Pan, Tilt, Tracking shots, Crash zoom, Zoom and Crane shots.

Editing The editing of this trailer is very conventional. A series of jump cuts are put
together to create the editing passage of time of a montage. Nearly every clip contains a fade out, fade in or dissolve in the colours of white or black. A few clips in the jump cuts contained a long take clip whereby the clip was edited like this to create the impression of a highly populated busy area. All the Piranhas, human flesh and blood is Post-production CGI editing.

Sound Non-diegetic sound of music is used throughout the trailer but is blended in with the
diegetic sound of each clip. When the clip is showing a horrific or violent scene then the music also matches the mood of the clip. When the clip is showing a upbeat party style lake then the music also matches the mood of the clip. Sound motif, Sound effects, Synchronous sound and Ambient sound is also used throughout the trailer.

Misc-en-scene The trailer reveals to us that Piranhas have escaped into a commonly
occupied lake through a earthquake caused crack in the lake floor. This means that they are able to attack the humans occupying the lake during spring break. We catch glimpses of the mayhem occurring during the meeting of the Piranhas and the humans. The trailer ends with an unsafe horrific scene of men and women being attacked, persuading us to view it in cinemas.
