What is Management Information System?


Management information system is an integrated user machine system for providing information to support operations, management and decision making function in an organization. The system utilizes computer hardware and software, manual procedures, models for analyzing, planning, control & decision making and database.

we have chosen the First Security Islamic Bank ltd as our organization to make this report on Management Information System. Now I m introducing our organization to u all.

History of First Security Islami Bank Ltd.


First Security Islami Bank Limited (FSIBL) was incorporated in Bangladesh on 29th August 1999 as a banking company under companies Act 1994 to carry on banking business. It obtained permission from Bangladesh Bank on 22 September 1997 to commerce its business. The Bank Carries banking activities through its sixty six (66) branches in the country. The commercial banking activities of the bank encompass a wide range of services including accepting deposits, making loans, discounting bills, conducting money transfer and foreign exchange transactions, and performance other related services such as safe keeping, collections and issuing guarantees, acceptances and letter of credit.

FSIB have branches in all the main cities of Bangladesh. At present, the bank has 66 branches of which 26 branches are in Dhaka Division, 25 branches are in Chittagong Division, 06 branches are in Sylhet Division, 03 branches are in Rajshahi Division, 04 branches are in Khulna Division and 02 branches are in Barishal Division.

FSIB is operating in 66 branches of Bangladesh. FSIB has a history of over 12 years in banking and operates in many of the worlds fastest-growing markets with an extensive global network of over the country. FSIB has own exchange centre in Canada and Italy. And going to launch in USA and Dubai.

Main Objectives :
FSIB focused on the established and emerging markets with an global network. Their main objective is to offer effective contribution to the national economy and to create most efficient banking environment for it customers.

Information system in FSIB


FSIB are using IT Since the start of their business. IT creates an evolution in whole country in every business and so in banking system. Now in FSIB with the help of IS the daily transaction are recorded in branch computers and these branch computers are then connected to the main head office. Server so in this way they keep their daily process update on daily bases. FSIB make thousands of transactions per day with the help of IS. It makes whole process much more quick, simple and reliable. Due to IS Employees can easily connect with other branches, customer service yet improved, online banking emerged and lot of other benefit. FSIB online is an innovative online banking service is an innovative online banking service. IS of FSIB also manage the SMS and ATM service. Now you can manage your finance any time, anywhere. As first security have different branches at different Areas of Bangladesh. All the branches are connecting with the main branch. Every branch has server which store all data transaction and information of everyday and at the end of the day those are transferred to the server of main branch. Main branch stores all the data of all branches.

Lacking of MIS of FSIBL


Credit card system should be improved. If the server is down, it can not be used. As a result all computer connected with this server get interrupted. When any computer of local branches get disturbed, the authority call mechanic from outside. It is not secured as well as time killing. So, they should have personal mechanic to re-order the computer.

This report discuss all the activities that the management information system perform in our selected organization First Security Islami Bank (Bangladesh) It explains how the transaction are made by the bank, using it sector. MIS provide the quality and satisfactory service to the manager and employees to the customers. It creates the relationship of all the entities in the database of the bank. If the authority can recover their lacking regarding management information system, it would help to improve its consumers satisfaction as well as popularity and profitability .
