What do you need the Present Perfect for ?

to tell what you have done recently/ lately. to tell what you have just or already done. to tell what you have never/ ever done. to tell what you have done so far/ up to now. to tell what you have done today/ this week/ this month/ this year.

What is so confusing about it ?

The present perfect is used to talk about an event that began in the past and continues up to the present. The specific time of event is not important.

The Present Perfect

The present perfect is used to talk about an event that began in the past and continues up to the present.

He has lived in Milan for two years. (He began living in Milan two years ago and he still lives there.)

The present perfect is also used to talk about an event that was completed in the past, but the specific time of the event is not important.

I have seen that movie before. He has already visited Vietnam. (Specific dates and times are not mentioned.)
