MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM


'MIS' is a planned system of the collecting, processing, storing and disseminating data in the form of information needed to carry out the

functions of management.

HUMAN RESOURCE INFORMATION SYSTEM (HRIS)


It refers to the systems and processes at the intersection between human resource management(hrm) & information technology (IT). Information system provide managers with support for decision that emphasize the allocation of resources. Within HRM the decision include: - recruitment decision, job analysis, training and development decisions, employee plan compensation decisions etc.

THE APPLICATION: -

1. EMPLOYEE INFORMATION SYSTEM


The HR department must maintain information on each of the organizations employee for a variety of decision and reporting purpose.
An employee profile usually contains information like name, address, sex, marital status, citizenship, education and training previous experience, salary rate, retirement and health plan choices etc. The employee inventory is a part of this system which keeps record about employee preferences for geographical location and work shifts.

2. POSITION CONTROL SYSTEM


A position consists of various tasks performs by one employee in an organization. The main purpose is to identify : 1. Each position in the organization. 2. The job title within which the position is classified. 3. Employee currently assigned to this position. It also helps the HR Manager to identify the vacant position.

4. THE PAY ROLE MODULE

It automates the pay process by gathering data on employees time and attendance, calculating various deduction and taxes.

The module can encompass all employee related transactions as well as integrate with existing financial management system.

It provides a system for organizations to administer and track employee training and development efforts. The system normally Management System. called a Learning

Self Appraisal, Reporting Managers Review and Reviewers feedback can be tracked across the departments. 7.LEAVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM


Management of every employees leave application, approval, cancellation and rejection status at all times. Multiple leave policies and rules can be configured in one single system. Multiple holiday lists can be handled location wise. Auto update on leave balance of all employees. Year end features, like Carry Forward Rules, Lapse, Encashment...etc can be automated.

8. ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM


Enables recording of the daily turnout of employees. Option for uploading the daily attendance sheet. Integration with third party swipe card system possible. Combined reports with leave can be generated. Exception alerts can be shown to HR.

9.COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM


Compliance software helps the human resources user ensure that the company is complying with applicable laws relating to employee hiring and termination, education and actions related to sexual harassment laws, and information related to employee diversity. Compliance software may also allow offer tools to ensure that the company complies with federal regulations, such as those relating to COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) and FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act).

10.EXIT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

CONCLUSION
The concept of MIS is now better known and recognized and there have been attempts from time to time to improve the system. 21st century shall witness a bigger thrust on MIS improvement, with increasing dependence on fact and information rather then joint interaction and judgment, for decision-making in business units.
