MOBILE CONTROLLED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT (USING MICROCONTROLLER 8051)

INTRODUCTION
Do u wish to operate your electronic equipment by just pressing a number on your mobile phone or landline? Well, here is a solution to it. We are introducing such a system which does not emits any radiations, any lasers beam and which has no limitation of range, we mean that it can be used from any distance from meters to thousands kms using a simple telephone or mobile phone. Here, Mobile is used as a media, which serves the main part of this system.

MAIN FEATURES OF THE DEVICE

No limit of distance. Password protection. Device number display. Programming in C Language. Each device has a unique code. It uses 8051 programmable IC which can be reprogrammed 1000 times to fit user need. There is no risk for false switching. You can control up to 8 electrical or electronic devices. You can control devices from landline or mobile.

PROJECT WORKING
When you press a button in the telephone set keypad, a connection is made that generates a resultant signal of two tones at the same time. These two tones are taken from a row frequency and a column frequency. The resultant frequency signal is called "Dual Tone Multiple Frequency". The row and column frequencies are given below:

Signal Decoding Unit: This unit consists of a DTMF to 4 bit Binary decoder IC HT 9170. The DTMF to BCD decoder IC HT9170 takes a valid tone signal from the Mobile headphone. Then the tone signal is converted in to 4 bit BCD number output obtained at pins from 11 to 14. Microcontroller

Current Amplifier
Port3 of microcontroller is output port connecter to ULN2803 IC. The current supplied by microcontroller is not sufficient to drive relay, So to boost up current we are using ULN2803 IC.

Power supply unit:

For the proper working of this local control section a permanent 5V back up needed continuously. This is achieved by using a 230V to 12V transformer, Bridge rectifier, capacitor filter and 5V regulated power supply from a voltage regulated IC 7805. This 5V source is connected to all ICs and relays.

AC cable / protector This is the AC code of 700W type.

Transformer This is the small transformer which primary side is 230v Ac and secondary side output voltage is 12V AC and current is 500mA.

Zero Printed circuit board This printed circuit board has 27 x 36 holes. It used to assemble all the component using simple wires Electrolytic capacitor This capacitor is used for the filter of a power supply.

Multilayer ceramic capacitor This capacitor is used for oscillation prevention of a regulator. Resistor Carbon film type resister is used having power rating1/4W

Relay This is a relay which drive the external circuit. Input 12v DC Output AC (250v & 7A) DC (120v 10A)

IC socket Since PIC16F873 are removed when rewriting a program, its IC socket is indispensable. 873 is 28 pins slim type DIP, so it can use two IC sockets for 14. Rectification diode This is the diode to rectify AC to DC. 100V and 1A type has been used here.

Light Emitting Diode (LED )

The circuit symbol is This type of diode emits light when current flows through it in the forward direction. (Forward biased.)

Transistors The transistor's function is to amplify an electric current.

Tactile switch Switches with small non lock type are used for the resetting of Microcontroller .
